Larrikin Puppets (ABN 96 884 134 902). Last updated: 14 September, 2026

Larrikin Puppets (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information when you interact with us — including when you book a show, purchase or stream video content, join our mailing list, or make a payment through our website or in person.

We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

  1. What Personal Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

Name, email address, and phone number
Payment and transaction details (processed by our payment providers — we do not directly store full card numbers)
Booking details (event or show date, venue, audience numbers, special requirements)
Video viewing data where you stream or purchase access to our video content
Communications you send us (enquiries, feedback, reviews)
Your subscription preferences if you join our mailing list

  1. How We Collect It

We collect personal information through the following platforms:

Stripe — used to process card payments for bookings and purchases. Stripe collects and processes your payment details on our behalf.

Square — used for in-person and card payments. When you make a transaction with us, Square may automatically create or update a customer profile associated with your card, recording details of that and future transactions made with the same card.

Mux — used to host and stream our video content. Mux may collect technical and viewing data (such as IP address and playback activity) when you watch videos we deliver through their platform.

Xero — used for invoicing and financial record-keeping. Xero stores your name, contact details, and transaction/invoice records associated with bookings.

EmailOctopus — used to manage our mailing list. If you subscribe (including if we add your details after a purchase or enquiry, where permitted), your name and email address are stored in EmailOctopus so we can send you newsletters, offers, and updates about Larrikin Puppets.

Email — where you contact us directly, we retain that correspondence to respond to and manage your enquiry or booking.

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing how they process data on our behalf:

Stripe: stripe.com/au/privacy
Square: squareup.com/legal/general/privacy
Mux: mux.com/privacy
Xero: xero.com/au/legal/privacy
EmailOctopus: emailoctopus.com/privacy-policy

  1. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to:

Process bookings, orders, and payments
Communicate with you about your booking or order (confirmations, reminders, changes)
Deliver video content you have purchased or been granted access to
Send marketing communications, such as newsletters and offers, where you have subscribed, enquired, or made a purchase with us
Comply with our legal, invoicing, and taxation obligations

  1. Sharing of Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third party for their own marketing purposes.

Your information is only shared with the service providers listed above (Stripe, Square, Mux, Xero, and EmailOctopus), strictly to the extent needed for them to process payments, host video content, manage invoicing, or deliver our email communications on our behalf. We do not pass your data on to any other business or organisation.

We may disclose information where required by law (for example, to the Australian Taxation Office or in response to a valid legal request).

  1. Data Storage and Security

Your personal information is stored within the secure systems of Stripe, Square, Mux, Xero, and EmailOctopus. These providers apply their own security measures to protect your data, including encryption of payment details. We take reasonable steps to ensure any information we access directly is kept secure and is only accessible to authorised personnel of Larrikin Puppets.

Some of these providers may store or process data outside Australia. Each provider’s own privacy policy contains further detail on their data storage locations and safeguards.

  1. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, including meeting our legal, accounting, and tax reporting obligations. You may ask us to delete your information at any time, subject to any legal requirement that we retain certain records (for example, transaction records for taxation purposes).

  1. Access, Correction, and Opting Out

You have the right to:

Ask what personal information we hold about you
Ask us to correct any inaccurate information
Ask us to delete your information (subject to our legal retention obligations)

  1. Cookies and Website Analytics

Our website may use cookies or similar technologies to understand how visitors use the site and to improve your browsing experience. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings.

  1. Children’s Privacy

Our shows and performances are designed for children and families. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Where a booking includes information about child participants or audience members (such as age ranges for a show, or a school/venue providing attendance numbers), this is collected only for the purpose of planning and running the performance safely, and is handled with the same care as all other personal information under this policy.

  1. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal obligations. The most current version will always be available on this page, with the “last updated” date shown at the top.
