Larrikin Puppets present a fun and engaging childcare puppet show designed to delight children and support early learning.
Brett Hansen and Elissa Jenkins, along with their troupe of friendly and funny puppet characters, provide high-quality interactive entertainment for childcare centres, day care, playgroups and kindies throughout Brisbane, Ipswich, the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast.
All childcare puppet shows are performed by both Brett and Elissa, allowing for a wider range of characters, stronger audience interaction and a dynamic performance experience.
Description:
We present a colourful and exciting puppet show for childcare centres, featuring zany Muppet-style characters performing age-appropriate songs, skits, jokes, games and live interaction with the audience. The puppets encourage children to dance, sing and participate throughout the performance.
Creative play is very important for the 0–5 year age group. At the end of the show, we present a short “How the puppets work” demonstration.
Total Duration:
Approximately 45 minutes.
Educational content — such as sharing, kindness, exercise, environmental awareness and healthy eating — can be incorporated into your performance. These themed shows are delivered by both puppeteers to ensure maximum engagement and impact.
On the Day:
Brett and Elissa arrive approximately one and a half hours prior to performance time to sign in, load in and set up the stage, sound equipment, props and puppets. The show runs for approximately 30 minutes, followed by the 5 minute “How the puppets work” demonstration. After the performance, the stage and equipment are packed down efficiently.

Professional Development and Training:
Brett and Elissa have completed three months of professional development in the USA, including advanced formal training with Jim Henson puppeteers from The Muppets and Sesame Street.
Blue Card and Insurance:
Current Blue Cards are held. Public liability insurance is maintained through Duck For Cover Entertainers Insurance.
